The Lindenhurst Park District this past year determined to recognize on a larger scale, those individuals, organizations, and governmental bodies that have continuously contributed their time and resources for the Lindenhurst Park District and particularly our community. Once this was determined, the Lindenhurst Park District submitted a Community Services Individual/Group, to the Statewide Organization of the Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association. Thomas J. Lippert Community Center
On May 5th, 2015 the Board of Park Commissioners of the Lindenhurst Park District passed a resolution dedicating the community center and re-naming it the Thomas J. Lippert Community Center. Tom Lippert was the Executive Director of the Lindenhurst Park District from 1992-2015 and during his tenure developed 19 named parks and beaches and constructed its main facility, now named after him, a 26,000 square foot community center. Tom served the Illinois park and recreation industry in various roles and capacities, at several districts, for a total of 38 years. Read More »
