The “2018” Roland Wetzel Lindenhurst Youth Soccer League Scholarships” were recently presented to qualified recipients, who played, volunteered an/or worked in the Lindenhurst Park District In-House Youth soccer Program (LYSL), in the amounts of (4) $250.00 scholarships. Read More »

The Lindenhurst Park District this past year determined to recognize on a larger scale, those individuals, organizations, and governmental bodies that have continuously contributed their time and resources for the Lindenhurst Park District and particularly our community. Once this was determined, the Lindenhurst Park District submitted a Community Services Individual/Group, to the Statewide Organization of the Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association. Both organizations concurred with the Lindenhurst Park District and presented the recognition plaques to Lindenhurst Park District Executive Director, Dave Mohr, at the recent Illinois Park and Recreation Association Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association have presented a 2016 Community Service Award to the Derrick Family (Tommy, Susie, Mackenzie, Bailey, and Chloe), for their outstanding contributions to the Lindenhurst Park District. Read More »

The “2016 Roland Wetzel Lindenhurst Youth Soccer League Scholarships” were recently presented to qualified recipients, who played, volunteered and/or worked in the Lindenhurst Park District In-House Youth Soccer Program (LYSL), in the amounts of $250.00 per scholarships. Read More »

The Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association have presented a 2015 Community Service Award to the Lakes High School National Honor Society and Lindenhurst Resident Joyce Dever, for their outstanding contributions to the Lindenhurst Park District. On May 5th, 2015 the Board of Park Commissioners of the Lindenhurst Park District passed a resolution dedicating the community center and re-naming it the Thomas J. Lippert Community Center. Tom Lippert was the Executive Director of the Lindenhurst Park District from 1992-2015 and during his tenure developed 19 named parks and beaches and constructed its main facility, now named after him, a 26,000 square foot community center. Tom served the Illinois park and recreation industry in various roles and capacities, at several districts, for a total of 38 years. Read More »
