NRPA July Spotlight of the Month!

Dave Mohr is the Executive Director of theΒ Lindenhurst Park District, but he has been changing the Lindenhurst, Illinois, community since 2004. Dave began at the Lindenhurst Park District as an athletic supervisor and grew alongside the district throughout his tenure, also holding the position of Superintendent of Recreation before becoming Executive Director.
Dave has a true passion for recreation and for his community, and it shows in his energy for the field, his community-centered management style, and the way that he supports his staff to put their best efforts forward. He is always looking for ways to enhance the quality of life for the Lindenhurst community.
As an Athletic Supervisor, Dave created relationships with his players, coaches, contractors, and employees; at a young age, he recognized the value and impact of personal relationships. Now as the Executive Director, Dave can walk through the halls of the community center and greet and converse with many of our participants – some of whom he has known his entire career.
He visits with the active older adult population monthly, bringing them pizza and engaging in their favorite card games. And, Dave knows how to bring the fun – he will be the first one to dress the part for themed parades or special events. Dave is an innovation ally – he wants the best for his community and will encourage and support his staff to create new programs or experiment with new processes. Dave believes that park and recreation agencies play an integral part in the health and wellness of a community and he strives to ensure that his community is well known and well served by his district!
Join us in celebrating Dave Mohr this July!Β #WeAreParksAndRec
