On May 5th, 2015 the Board of Park Commissioners of the Lindenhurst Park District passed a resolution dedicating the community center and re-naming it the Thomas J. Lippert Community Center. Tom Lippert was the Executive Director of the Lindenhurst Park District from 1992-2015 and during his tenure developed 19 named parks and beaches and constructed its main facility, now named after him, a 26,000 square foot community center. Tom served the Illinois park and recreation industry in various roles and capacities, at several districts, for a total of 38 years.
