Exciting changes are on the horizon for Lewis Park! Thanks to the OSLAD Grant, the park will soon feature a brand-new playground with a safe surface, inviting children of all ages to play and explore. In addition, enhancements to the basketball and tennis/pickleball courts will invigorate community engagement in sports and recreational activities. The park’s aesthetics will also receive a boost with refreshed landscaping and expanded green spaces, offering a serene retreat for residents to enjoy nature. Accessibility is a priority, as the project will incorporate ADA-compliant features, ensuring everyone can enjoy the new amenities. Lastly, upgraded picnic areas and community gathering spaces. The expected completion date is Fall 2025.

Stay Healthy – Coronavirus and Flu Prevention Tips
The health and safety of our Park District participants and staff is a top priority. District administration has been closely monitoring developments in the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and has been taking precautions to contain the spread of the virus. At this time, there has been no indication of a coronavirus outbreak in our area, but we believe that prevention is imperative to the health and wellness of our participants.
- CLEAN
- Wash your hands regularly (most especially after using the restroom and before consuming food) for at least 20 seconds with soap and water
- COVER
- Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and then throw the tissue into the trash
- CONTAIN
- If your child is feeling sick or presenting symptoms of illness, do not send them to school or before/after school care – for the protection of other participants and staff, your child should be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications prior to returning to school or care
We encourage anyone with questions to visit the Lake County Health Department or the CDC for additional information. We will continue to communicate as additional information as needed.
