Winter Dance Class Info

I Can Dance Two
This class is designed for toddlers eager to dance.  Various dancing games and props will be used in this class.  Emphasis will be on exercise and fun!
Pitter Patter Feet
Children will develop a sense of creativity and rhythm through dance and movement.  Please bring a "Beanie Baby" to each class.
Beginning Dance 1 & 2 
In this class, basic steps and positions will be taught, along with creative movement and body recognition.  These classes stress repetition for muscle strength and memory.  Students enrolled in the Beginning 1 are taught ballet only.  In Beginning 2, ballet and tap are taught.
Ballet/Tap 1 & Jazz/Tap 1
In these classes students will learn basic steps of Ballet or Jazz.  Students will work on flexibility, strength and center work.  In Tap, dancers will learn basic steps, rhythms, and combinations in center and moving across the floor.
Ballet/Tap 2
This is a continuation of Ballet/Tap 1.  More focus is placed on technique, and more complex combinations are given.
Ballet 1
In this class, students will focus on the fundamentals of ballet.  This class is ideal for students wanting to concentrate on Ballet without jazz or tap.

Intermediate Ballet
Emphasis is on placement and technique using barre, center work, and movement across the floor.  Combinations in both allegro and adagio will be taught.
Jazz/Funk 1
This class is a combination of Hip Hop styles and Jazz dance.  Various routines will be taught in this class.  This class will also include styles of dance from musical theatre.
Jazz 2
This dance form borrows from ballet, but exhibits an upbeat style and pizzazz.  Emphasis will be on placement, technique, stretching, strengthening and may have a theatrical element. 
Kinder Hip Hop
This is a prelude to Hip Hop 1.  This fun class will introduce Hip Hop dancing appropriate to the age.  Music like High-School Musical, Cheetah Girls, and Hannah Montana will be used.
Hip Hop 1 & 2 Teen/Adult
Come and learn the basics of this new and exciting dance style.  Hip Hop is derived from jazz and is similar to it in many ways, however, the hip hop style is considered to be the more contemporary version of jazz.
Modern/Lyrical
This class will concentrate on basic elements of modern dance, including a variety of body movements, use of space, rhythm and technique.  Lyrical includes modern dance and elements of ballet.

SUMMER DANCE INFO
