The church basement kitchen throughout much of American is often the heart and soul of any church. In Church Basement Ladies we meet the pastor, three cooks and one daughter who run the kitchen and care of the congregation. As in any kitchen, problems arise. We watch as the four women handle a lutefisk dinner, a funeral, an Easter fundraiser, and of course, a wedding. They stave off potential disasters, have loads of fun, share and debate recipes, instruct the young, and keep the pastor on a steady course. This musical comedy, which has charmed audience all over the nation, is funny, heart-warming and down to earth. Lunch will be broccoli and cauliflower salad, roast boneless pork chop served with whipped potatoes and gravy, creamed sweet corn, cinnamon applesauce. Dessert will be hummingbird cake. Coffee, tea and milk are included.
