Preschool Drawing

This fun and educational class encourages skill building in your child’s early interest in drawing. Each week we draw a new subject, learning about the subject as we draw it. Drawings range from fish to teddy bears, rainbows to castles and much more. Along with learning to draw and color, children will develop focus, fine motor skills, listening skills and so much more! Class is fun, positive, encouraging and skill building.

Elementary Drawing and Cartooning

This class is a combination of two Young Rembrandts popular classes-Elementary Drawing and Cartooning! In our Elementary Drawing classes we use the Young Rembrandts’ innovative, step-by-step teaching method to teach any child how to draw-regardless of artistic ability-giving the skills to express their creativity that will last a lifetime. Topics range from animals, landscapes, still life’s, even art history. In our Cartooning classes we use the same teaching method and our students learn to create silly characters, funny expressions and drawing sequences that tell jokes! The light-hearted subject matters engage children and their sense of humor and vivid imaginations. Our philosophy is to give children a positive and nurturing environment as we teach fundamental drawing techniques. All materials are provided. Every session has all new lessons!

Jr. Monster Camp

Boys and girls are going to love these inventive, original and playful monsters! Learn to draw wild faces, exaggerated features and scary bodies. Children will learn a variety of basic cartoon techniques, while enjoying the fun our creatures offer. The “monster under the bed”, the “closet monster”, and many more will appear, along with a multitude of original characters! Pencils, color pencils and markers will be used.

Passport to Pastels

This Young Rembrandts class is full of possibilities! Join us for 3 days of adventurous fun as we explore many “locations” this Fall and take our passport along as we experience a new medium, pastels. In our imaginations, we will travel to three different locales to inspire each day’s pastel creation. Included locations are: a cityscape, the Swiss Alps, and a tropical scene full of color. Each day we will create one large drawing in pastel chalks. The result will be truly frameable! No experience necessary. Wear an old t-shirt or art smock.

Anime Cartoon Camp

Come explore the world of Anime with Young Rembrandts! We will spend three days learning about and drawing cartoons in Anime style. We will learn to create our own original Anime characters. We will use a variety of facial expressions and action and movement to illustrate our scenes. On the final day, we will pull from what we have already learned to draw- a large comic book type scene in the Anime style.

Superhero Cartoon Camp

POW! BANG! WOW! Now you can learn to draw your own comic book superhero. Each day we will complete several drawings while we explore a variety of characters. We will learn to draw basic muscular superhero bodies and adapt it to the character of our choice. We will learn to draw action and movement while we complete the scenes around our superheroes, using pencils and markers. Our collection of drawings will be impressive!
