Nature Detectives

Our Nature Detectives will explore nature at its best. They will become experts each week on a different nature theme. Each theme will be explored through hands on activities, experiments, and outdoor exploration: Wondrous Adaptations - 9/16 Can you spray stinky fumes to ward off predators? Do you camouflage with your surroundings? Do you have a waxy coating on your skin to keep water off you? These are just a few of the awesome adaptations animals and plants have to survive in their habitat. We will do hands on activities to see how animals and plants adapt to survive in their habitat. Meet at the Lippert Community Center. Aquatic Adventures - 9/23 Ducks, fish, lily pads, oh my! What lives in an aquatic ecosystem? Come discover what eats, sleeps, and breathes in an aquatic ecosystem. We will collect water samples and examine the aquatic plants and animals living in our neighborhood pond. Meet at John Janega Memorial Park. Fascinating Leaves - 9/30 Why do leaves change color and fall off trees in the fall? How many different shaped and sized leaves are there? We will answer all of these questions through hands on discovery and outdoor explorations. Meet at the Lippert Community Center.
