Six-County Senior Olympics
The Illinois Parks and Recreation Association Six-County Senior Olympics provides an opportunity for older adults to compete with their peers in an atmosphere of friendship and support, and to receive recognition for their efforts and achievements. The event is open to seniors of all ability levels, and includes: golf, tennis, bowling, swimming, biking, track and field, horseshoes, bocce, volleyball and more. All participants will receive a 2010 Senior Olympics T-shirt and medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age/gender category. Beginning in May, registration forms and a detailed schedule of events will be available online at www.ilipra.org, at your local senior center or by calling 847.692.3597.

Summer Picnic
Come on out and join us in a celebration of life and summer! We will meet beneath the shelter at Millennium Park, in Lindenhurst. Sign up for a dish to pass when your register. We’ll eat, talk, laugh, play games and have door prizes. Fee is for fried chicken, paper products, and prizes. Bring a lawn chair if you can.

Men's Card Club
We are trying to get together a Men’s Card Club. Do you enjoy playing cards and talking about the old days and current events? All card games are welcome, so bring your cards and let’s have some fun! If interested, call Jo at 847.356.6011 on Mondays from 10am-3pm.

Anyone for Mahjongg
Learn something new that will stimulate your brain and allow you to make new friends! The ancient Asian tile game of Mahjongg is played Mondays from 10am-4pm and Wednesdays from 1-5pm in the Senior Room. You can be a beginner, medium, or advanced player. Anyone who is new will be patiently taught by sitting with a more experienced player. If you have a game, please bring it in.
Senior Coffee Club
Relax and enjoy some coffee, doughnuts and great company. What a great way to meet new friends. Walk-ins are welcome. Registration is not necessary. Please bring a friend.

Senior Craft Club
Come to the senior room in the Community Center for an afternoon of making different crafts, or learning new ones. See what you can create-you may surprise yourself! Bring supplies for yourself or just come and watch to get an idea of what they do. No registration required.. New ideas welcome! Free for those 55 and over on Tuesdays starting at 1:00pm.
Cards & Games
Come play a card game or board games with us on Thursday afternoons. Bring a favorite game with you if you like. Free for those 55 and over on Thursdays at 2:00pm, located in the Senior Room. Hope to see you there!
St. Patrick's Day Breakfast
Please help us celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by wearin’ a bit “o” green, and bring a breakfast offering to share. It’s always a great variety of food and lots of fun. Those of you that stay afterward can play games and cards. Register at the front desk to let us know what you’d like to bring.
