Our Nature Detectives will explore nature at its best. They will become experts each week on a different nature theme. Each natural theme will be explored through hands on activities, experiments, and outdoor explorations. Please send children dressed for the weather. *intro paragraph*

Wondrous Adaptations 9/16
Can you spray stinky fumes to ward off predators? Do you camouflage with your surroundings? Do you have a waxy coating on your skin to keep water off you? These are just a few of the awesome adaptations animals and plants have to survive in their habitat. We will do hands on activities to see how animals and plants adapt to survive in their habitat. This program will meet at the Thomas J. Lippert Community Center (2200 E. Grass Lake Road, Lindenhurst).

Aquatic Adventures 9/23
Ducks, fish, lily pads, oh my! What lives in an aquatic ecosystem? Come discover what eats, sleeps, and breathes in an aquatic ecosystem. We will collect water samples and examine the aquatic plants and animals living in our neighborhood pond. This class session will meet at John Janega Memorial Park (205 Hickory Drive, Lindenhurst)

Fascinating Leaves 9/30
Why do Leave change color in the fall? Why do the leaves fall of trees in the fall? How many different shaped and sized leaves are there? We will answer all of these questions through hands on discovery and outdoor explorations. This class session will meet at the Thomas J. Lippert Community Center (2200 E. Grass Lake Road, Lindenhurst).

*If weather is inclement session will be held at the Thomas J. Lippert Community Center*
